Ex voto invokes a practice of offering and protection, introducing a ritual vocabulary into painting. Visca’s first fabric sculptures, shown at the Arte d’Oggi gallery in Pescara, date from the same period. From this point on, the manual act of sewing assumes a decisive role in his work.
