Following the gesture
The artist’s website presents the development of Personaggio enigmatico as a performance from 1974. The photographic sequence preserves the process: the sheet becomes the site of an action, and the mark develops as the gaze follows the hand. These photographs invite us to observe a figure in the act of becoming.
Inside the studio
The documentation also includes photographs of the studio in Via di Villa Basile in Pescara. Seen alongside the performance, they reveal a working environment of sheets, tools and people: a space in which thought passes through drawing.
